Why Workers Comp Fraud Doesn't Pay.

Картинки по запросу фото работников

Ask any business owner and he or she will tell you that insurance is not just about commercial general, professional, and employee liability or property coverage. Generally, it is legally mandatory for a business to acquire workers compensation coverage so that employees will be able to claim benefits in the event they incur a work related injury.

So, it's a fact - workers comp is an important factor in any company's insurance portfolio.
The problem lies when a worker files a fraudulent claim. And, unfortunately, it happens fairly often. But contrary to what many believe, workers comp fraud does not just impact businesses and bosses, and the employees that go about life in a totally honest manner, it also affects the faker. File a fake workers comp claim and you risk losing your job, spending time behind bars, and paying expensive fines. Trust those in the industry: crime - as it relates to workers comp - surely does not pay!
Below you will find some examples of employees that thought they could earn some bucks while fooling the system. In the long run, the hoax turned on them.
Fake Workers Comp Claim - True Scenarios
1. Marc was employed as a gardener. One day, he slipped and fell on the job. Complaining about associated pain that rendered him unable to work any longer, Marc submitted a workers comp claim. The process went rather smooth and it did not take long for Marc to begin receiving his disability benefits. Unbeknownst to Marc, however, the insurance company was after his tracks. After viewing surveillance video showing Marc actively doing gardening work for two other properties, Marc was called to task. Not only would the disability checks be curtailed, but he was sentenced to four months of jail time and ordered to pay over $39,000 in fines.
2. Jack complained about injuries he incurred at work. He said the resulting back pains made it impossible to continue his employment. Jack told the attending doctor that he had not experienced any pains prior to his work injuries. It didn't take long for the insurance to offer proof that Jack was lying about his inability to work. The surveillance camera caught him working as a landscaper in the family business following the claim he made, resulting in a 3-year prison term and a $14,500 fine.
3. Sarah filed a workers comp claim after she received injuries to her back and leg while walking up a slope at the business's outdoor facilities. When filing, Sarah failed to reckon with the ability of the insurance company's investigation department. The department's thorough work uncovered the true nature of the injuries: the injuries had been incurred before the date given on the claim and so were the discussions fellow employees had with her about them. Sarah was given 120 days jail time, plus 5 years of probation, plus a fine of $28,000!

What can you buy for money or what will be better for you.  As the old saying goes, you can't buy love for money, but you can buy time for them with those you love or want to spend time with, or when you just need sex. We all look forward to a long healthy life with plenty of time with family and friends. Sometimes, however, life has different plans, and even a small planning can ease the financial burden at a time when the last thing you need to think about is money. They say it is better to be rich and healthy than sick and poor. Critical illness insurance is one of the options for accounting for an unanticipated future.
Fortunately during the financial planning sessions, we discussed and included critical illness coverage to their suite of group and insurance options. This allowed the family to spend their limited time together as well as have the proper time to grieve the loss of a father and husband without worrying about finances.
Critical illness insurance pays a lump sum benefit if you are diagnosed with a dreaded disease such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's, cancer or Parkinson's disease. Other conditions covered may include coma, stroke, heart attack, and kidney failure. Benefits are paid for the first occurrence and may be used to pay medical expenses, modify your home or even take a vacation.
There are many versions of critical illness insurance available and different insurance carriers offer different coverage. Be sure not to let premiums be your guide when choosing the right coverage for you and your family. Speaking with a financial planner can help you navigate the tricky waters of ensuring your future needs are met based on your family history and future goals.
Due to the aforementioned situation, the children of this couple have now been meeting with their financial planner
on a regular basis to develop their own financial plans and to ensure that their inheritance and financial affairs are
well looked after. Firsthand experience has shown them a little planning goes a long way.  Initial experience has
shown that small planning is enjoying increasing polarity

Fire Claims.  Tips for Filing an Insurance Claim.

After suffering a fire the homeowner will need to do file a claim for property damages so they can clean up and start to rebuild. Fires are devastating and sometimes homeowners will make a costly mistake during and after the settlement of their fire claims. Most will let a fire claim adjustor come survey their property and make the claim but there can be things that are missed during the initial claim. One thing to note is that after the insurance company sends you a check and closes the fire claims the homeowner has three years to add to the existing closed claim. This can be done if it is found that the damages were not assessed correctly. To help make sure that you get the right settlement for your fire claims, here are some tips to help you.
Document the damage to your home and other buildings
Take the time to inspect and document all of the damage yourself. If the home is not a total loss make sure that you take pictures of the damaged rooms. Try to take overviews and some close-up photos. Before you enter the room, hall, or closet take an overview. By doing this it will help you to organize your pictures and which ones belong to which room. For example, with the living room, take an overview, then go from top to bottom of the walls, ceiling, doors, and the floor.
Document damage to your contents
The next step is to go back to each room and closet to inventory your contents. For everything that is damage, including clothes, shoes, furniture, paintings, etc that have been damaged by the fire making sure to show the damage on the picture. Yes, this is going to take a lot of pictures but everything needs to be documented in order to get the right settlement. Make a list of all contents that have been damage. Once you have listed the damaged items and have the pictures take another look around the room to make sure that you have not missed anything. Make an inventory list for each room with the pictures attached.
Review your insurance policy
Yes, insurance policies are hard to understand but before filing fire claims you should take the time to review your police basics, such as how much coverage you have on your home, how much coverage is on your personal belongings, and how much will the policy pay for you to stay in a hotel.
Once you do fire claims the fire claims adjuster will cover to the site of the fire and start their own claim. Do not give them the original photos and inventory claim sheet but a copy. This will help them expedite the claim.

Traveling with Your Dog.

Riding with his head out the window leaves a dog's sensitive nose, ears and eyes
unprotected from flying objects. Dogs should ride in a crate, attached with a harness or,
alternatively, lying down on the back seat. Otherwise, they might interfere with the driver
and, in the event of an accident or even a quick stop, risk being injured or even thrown
from the car. Before departure on a long trip, you should confirm that your intended
accommodations permit pets and determine whether any special rules or fees apply.
Ten days beforehand, visit your veterinarian for a canine physical, including scheduled
inoculations, and to obtain state-required rabies and health certificates. If you are planning
international travel with your pet, contact the appropriate consulate for necessary
documentation. When leaving the United States for a destination in Canada or Mexico,
you'll only need rabies and health certificates. Some countries (although not Canada or
Mexico) and even some states (Hawaii, for example)may require quarantine periods
for visiting dogs, which could cause you to rethink your plans.
In addition to traveling papers, your dog needs food, bowls, blankets, leashes, a
pooper-scooper and plastic bags, and any medication he may be taking. To avoid
unpleasantness of traveling with a dog with diarrhea, you can bring some of your own
water from home and make the switch over to local water a gradual one. Don't neglect
your dog's grooming while you're on the road; bring along any necessary grooming
supplies. Your dog's favorite toys and blanket or pillow will be familiar and comforting to
him. Make sure your dog is wearing a flat collar (and never a choke collar) with
identification tagslisting your home address, a neighbor's phone number and a number
 at your destination.
In the event that he gets lost, bring along a good photo. And it never hurts to have a
canine first-aid kit with you.
Dog Harnesses
With a dog harness, a dog is able to enjoy the view out the window without interfering
with the driver or being a danger to himself or others in case of an accident. Riding in
the front seat poses a potential danger to your dog if you have a passenger-side air bag
in your vehicle. In that case, he should be harnessed in the back.
Heatstroke occurs when body temperature suddenly rises to dangerous levels. It poses
a particular danger to dogs, which rely on panting to keep cool. (Only the canine's paw
pads have sweat glands.) Overweight, elderly and ill dogs are most at risk. Parked cars
and other confined spaces with little ventilation represent danger. In humid, 75 degrees
F (24 degrees C) weather, a car parked in the shade with partly open windows reaches
120 degrees F (49 degrees C) in just a half-hour and the dog inside suffers. As his
temperature rises, he becomes weak and uncoordinated; shock, coma and then death
may follow. If your dog is a victim of heatstroke, soak him in cool (not cold) water and
 rush him to a vet.
Heatstroke can be avoided by keeping your dog in a cool, ventilated space with plenty of
water. In really hot weather, avoid car trips if possible, unless the vehicle is equipped
withair conditioning. Sun blinds attached to the car windows can also help keep your
 dog cool.
Moving has its own special stresses for dogs, so your pet needs extra attention and
reassurance during this time. Keep your dog in a safe spot, out of the action, on moving
day. Once in the new home, a quick return to familiar routines and the swift reappearance
of well-known toys and bedding should reassure your dog that he is home.

Pet Health Insurance.  What it is and How it is Beneficial?

Pet health insurance is the one which only provides you money for issues related to healthcare. It will not provide you money if your pet is missing or if it damages property. It is a simple process where you need to pay a deductible annually, and you can claim money when you need a large amount of money for your pet's treatment. There are different organizations where you can get it done, and the rate varies from one to another. In some organizations, it starts from $19 per month.
Let us go through the things which pet insurance covers and the ones it does not cover.
A pet health insurance covers the following areas:-
• Vet Fees
• Surgery Costs
• Medicines
• Cancer treatments
• Medical Tests
• Alternative Treatments like homeopathy
• Vaccinations
• Oral Treatments
The areas which are not covered by pet insurance include:-
• Pre-existing Diseases
• Vitamins and Supplements
• Food
What is the process involved?
To get a pet insurance done, you need to choose an organization first. You need to fill up a form specifying your personal details and details regarding the pet. They will discuss the policy and its terms with you. If there are multiple policies available, you can choose from them according to your convenience.
Here are some of the standard policies:-
• Lifetime Insurance: - In, this type of insurance, you are offered a payment every year. You can renew the policy and the amount then gets regenerated.
• Limited-time Insurance: - Here, the amount you can get can be covered within a certain period. After that time is over, there will be no value to your insurance.
• Maximum-amount Insurance: - Here, an amount is specified which you can get for the coverage of the bills. There is no time limit, you can avail it anytime, but you will not get more than the specified amount.
• Accident-only Insurance: - This type of insurance is valid only for accidents that your pet might come across.
Benefits of getting a pet insurance done:-
By getting a pet insurance done, you get a significant amount of money paid against your veterinary bill by paying a lesser amount on a monthly basis. So, it is more economical. Also, during times of emergency or accidents, it is not easy to arrange for a huge sum of money. If you have a pet insurance done, it becomes easier for you to arrange it since most organizations bear about 80% of the total expenses (depending on certain conditions). It gives you a sense of relief and satisfaction and proves your responsibility as a pet owner.
Apart from covering the serious diseases, a pet insurance also provides money for routine wellness care. If the conditions recur, they pay your bills, and you don't need to pay any additional costs for this.
After you get the insurance done, you can go to any vet of your choice. You can also go to specialists, physiotherapists, or medical stores. It does not matter for the companies where you are going. They are ready to pay the bills based on certain criteria.
The difference between a pet insurance company and HMO
A pet insurance company allows you to go any vet or hospital of your choice, unlike HMO where particular hospitals or medical centers are specified.
A pet health insurance can be sub-divided into dog insurance and cat insurance. The coverage is almost similar in both the cases. These are the two general categories which people prefer for insuring their pets. However, there are also provisions for insuring birds like parrot or birds of prey and also other mammals apart from cat and dog. Reptiles and some exotic species can also be insured.
There are manifold advantages of getting a pet health insurance done. Just choose the plan that is ideal for you and you will be relieved of the tension of sponsoring your pet's health treatment costs.
